Winston Churchill was an army officer and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and he led the country to victory in the Second World War.
In India, he is remembered as the person who caused the Bengal Famine of 1943, which resulted in an estimated death of 2.1–3 million people in modern day West Bengal and Bangladesh
According to Theguardian , The Bengal famine of 1943 was because of Churchill-era British policies were a significant factor , which killed up to 3 million people due to hunger .Food supplies of Bengal’s continued to exported and left people to die due to hunger . But Churchill has been quoted as blaming the famine on the fact Indians were “breeding like rabbits”
